Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience required.
• Working knowledge of microbiology concepts, practices, and testing techniques.
• Follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
• Work safely, hygienically, and efficiently in a lab setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for testing of indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistry parameters.
• Apply aseptic techniques throughout daily activities.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize microbiological media, reagents, and testing materials.
• Perform routine microbiological testing per approved methods and quality standards.
• Conduct quality-control activities, including incubator temperature monitoring and inoculation of controls.
• Maintain accurate records for all testing and lab activities.
• Monitor inventory levels and report needed supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance and lab upkeep, including cleaning and waste disposal.
• Help maintain equipment, QA programs, and lab conditions.
• Work independently to meet turnaround times and quality expectations.
• Manage priorities to support individual and team goals.
• Communicate updates with lab team and leadership.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
