Job summary

ADM is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for the Microbiology Laboratory in Decatur, IL. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on hands-on microbiological testing for ADM's internal facilities across North America.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, media and reagent handling, results interpretation and reporting, and adherence to FDA, GMP, USP, and biosafety standards. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an applied science or related field is required.
• Attendance and punctuality are required.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays, with overtime as needed.
• 2+ years in a Quality Lab preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on microbiological testing of samples following procedures.
• Prepare media, reagents, and solutions for a variety of microbiological tests.
• Follow GLP, aseptic techniques, and ISO 17025:2017 requirements.
• Interpret, record, and report results in a timely manner.
• Train junior team members as necessary.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab instrumentation (MDS, pH meter, pipettes, balances).
• Utilize lab systems and software for data entry and reporting.
• Comply with FDA, GMP, USP, Biosafety, and OSHA standards.
