Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous microbiology laboratory experience required.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Life Science, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of microbiology laboratory concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• Ability to work safely around laboratory chemicals, biological materials, and testing equipment.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for microbiological and analytical testing
• Perform testing for indicator organisms, pathogens, and related analyses
• Apply proper aseptic techniques throughout daily laboratory activities
• Prepare and maintain media and reagents used for microbiological testing
• Perform routine quality control activities, including incubator temperature monitoring, control organisms, and media controls
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
• Assist with inventory and communicate supply and material needs
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of laboratory work areas and equipment
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Independently complete assigned processes and procedures while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Support additional laboratory testing and activities based on workload and business needs

Advanced Personnel Resources is currently recruiting for a Microbiology Technician – Sample Testing for an established laboratory operation in Greensboro, NC. This position is responsible for preparing samples and performing microbiological testing using approved laboratory techniques and methodologies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with microbiology laboratory experience who is looking to grow their career in a professional, team-oriented lab environment.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:0 0 AM–5:00 PM

Training & Travel

This position requires initial training in Canada. The employer will cover the cost of the flight, hotel accommodations, and rental car associated with the training. Candidates must have a current valid passport and be able to travel internationally for training.

This position works in a professional laboratory environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, odors, fumes, airborne particles, laboratory chemicals, and microbiological materials.

The laboratory also performs testing on tobacco, synthetic nicotine products, e-liquids, and related materials. Testing is conducted in a controlled laboratory setting.
