Job summary

Qualified candidates will have a BS in microbiology (or related) and experience with spread-plate technique and aseptic handling, with attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• BS degree is required; a degree in Microbiology is preferred.
• Experience with spread-plate technique is required.
• An understanding and practice of aseptic technique is required.
• Attention to detail is necessary to ensure correct sample processing.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and plating of routine microbiology samples.
• Preparing and stocking supplies for daily lab work.
• Routine laboratory cleaning.
• Strict adherence to SOPs in order to maintain quality of results.
• Ability to work as part of a team and occasionally independently.
