Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) in Decatur, IL is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for the Microbiology Laboratory. You will perform hands-on microbiological tests, interpret results, and report findings for internal ADM facilities across North America.

You will prepare media and reagents, follow ISO 17025:2017 standards, and train junior staff while maintaining strict GLP and biosafety practices in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an applied science or related field is required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to multi-task and communicate clearly in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle samples, perform microbiological testing and report results promptly.
• Prepare media, reagents and solutions for various microbiological tests.
• Demonstrate understanding of microbiological techniques and aseptic practices.
• Train junior team members as needed and troubleshoot lab instrumentation.
• Operate lab systems and software and comply with FDA, GMP, USP, ISO 17025 standards.
• Maintain compliance with safety guidelines, GLP and biosafety practices.
