Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Baking Science, Milling, Chemistry, Food Science or similar science field preferred.
• 5+ years of laboratory experience in a food setting preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all analytical tests on products are performed accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee usage of and provide support for information technology systems (i.e., TLC, Policy Tech, Sphera, GEMINI).
• Ensure training, proficiency, and development of laboratory technicians in all aspects of in-process and finished product testing, including intra and inter-lab proficiency programs.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Manage inventory and safety of all lab chemicals and supplies.
• Ensure that all local SOPs are up to date and accurate.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and good decision making skills are required.
• Escalates and communicates quality issues to QC Plant Management, Regional QFS, Technical Services or Global QC.
