Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking an Instructional Support Assistant for the Microbiology Lab on a per diem basis. The role provides administrative and executive support and liaises with hospital management to uphold high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities include inventory control, handling lab items under supervision, and maintaining orderly lab spaces. Preferred candidates have CLS program enrollment and prior lab experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credit in a healthcare related field of study.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Currently enrolled in an Accredited Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with regulatory mandated inventory control processes and report issues to supervisors.
• Load and unload laboratory items under supervision.
• Maintain laboratory upkeep: filing, stocking shelves, benches, and clerical duties.
• Assist with cleaning and periodic maintenance of incubators per safety regulations.
