Job summary

Abbott in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a Micro Supervisor to oversee Plant Microbiology QA Laboratories, including environmental monitoring, testing, and CAPA follow-through. You will provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and safety policies.

The role requires a B.S. in Food Science or Microbiology, plus sterilization and aseptic handling knowledge. Night shift with weekend rotation; competitive base pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related area.
• Knowledge of sterilization methods, microbial physiology, biochemical characterization of microbial isolates, disinfection/sanitization methods, and aseptic handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
• Manage budgetary and staff requirements.
• Provide product and manufacturing microbial support for retort, powder, and aseptic lines.
• Interface with division personnel to develop microbiological guidelines and specifications.
• Ensure compliance to procedures and policies for quality, regulatory, safety and HR across reporting departments.
• Coach, develop and mentor employees; manage recruitment, development and retention; conduct performance reviews and growth plans.
• Develop and administer Environmental Monitoring program; lead problem solving for microbial issues.
• Direct plant-initiated microbiological certification activities; interact with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Regulatory, Purchasing.
