Job summary

UW Medicine’s Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology seeks a Health Services Manager for the Microbiology Lab at Renton Central Lab. You will lead technical and administrative operations, optimize workflows, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and drive labs initiatives with faculty and directors.

The role emphasizes staff development, budget oversight, and collaboration with clinical and research units to support ongoing projects and education programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification with the ASCP or equivalent certifying organization.
• Six years of progressively responsible clinical technologist experience including leadership or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and administrative leadership to the Microbiology Laboratory.
• Sets goals for the laboratory and leads division strategies to meet future demands.
• Oversees staff development, QA/QI programs, and training across the lab.
