DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for night shifts in Microbiology. The position involves proper collection and processing of laboratory specimens under supervision, with proficiency in the laboratory information system.

You will perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, and various tests in line with PMCC, CLIA and OSHA standards. This is a full‑time nights role for a candidate with a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of medical experience or a healthcare degree.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical field or a healthcare bachelor’s degree.

Responsabilités

• Performs phlebotomy and routine chemical, bacteriological, serological, and hematological procedures per policy.
• Venipuncture on patients as requested by medical staff.
• Performs analysis or evaluation according to PMCC, CLIA, OSHA standards.
• Monitors pending functions to ensure specimens processed.
• Orders and stocks supplies, sterilizes instruments, and prepares equipment.
• Logs patient specimens and enters test results in the information system.
• Completes data entry accurately into lab software systems.
• Collects data, prepares reports, and conducts follow‑up on reports.
• Maintains clean, well‑stocked lab area and adheres to safety policies.
• Attends department and facility meetings and training.
