DHR Health in Edinburg, Texas is seeking a Medical Lab Technician III for the Evening shift in Blood Bank. The role includes obtaining patient samples, performing analyses, reporting results to physicians and ensuring quality control and instrument calibration.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate Degree in Medical Lab Technology, ASCP certification within a year of hire, and at least two years of relevant experience, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory

Qualifications

Associate degree in Medical Lab Technology is required.
ASCP certification or equivalent within one year of hire is required.
Minimum of two years’ laboratory experience is required.
Proficient knowledge of clinical laboratory processes, testing and analytical procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

Perform analytical tests of body fluids, blood, serum, plasma, cells and other substances.
Maintain quality control procedures and calibrate instruments as required.
Assist in organizing assigned workload and supervising staff as needed.
Instruct new employees and students in clinical laboratory responsibilities.
Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies and ensure compliance with department controls.
