Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a part-time Microbiology Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join the Microbiology section. The CLS will perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing with adherence to SOPs and quality control.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science, 1 year of microbiology lab experience (internship acceptable) and a CA CLS license or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist credential. Strong organization and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science required.
• 1 year microbiology clinical lab experience, including internship.
• CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Processes and handles samples according to SOPs in Microbiology.
• Performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing.
• Maintains quality control and equipment maintenance logs.
• Documents testing results accurately and reports findings to medical staff.
