MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join the Microbiology section. The role involves processing samples, performing microbiology testing, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting under SOPs.
Key duties include quality control, equipment maintenance, and documentation. A CLS license in California and a bachelor’s degree in science are required, with at least one year of microbiology lab experience preferred.
Reporting to the Microbiology Supervisor, the microbiology Clinical Laboratory Scientist is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patient’s samples within the Microbiology section of the laboratory. In this capacity the Microbiology CLS performs the pre analytical, analytical and post analytical testing and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance and all reporting and documentation.

Bachelor Degree - Science
B. Qualifications/Experience
1 year Microbiology clinical laboratory experience, including internship experience, may be considered.
CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist
One year clinical laboratory experience, including internship experience, may be considered.
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficient with computer.
