MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a part-time Microbiology Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join the Microbiology section. The CLS will perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing with adherence to SOPs and quality control.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science, 1 year of microbiology lab experience (internship acceptable) and a CA CLS license or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist credential. Strong organization and computer skills are required.
Reporting to the Microbiology Supervisor, the microbiology Clinical Laboratory Scientist is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patient’s samples within the Microbiology section of the laboratory. In this capacity the Microbiology CLS performs the pre analytical, analytical and post analytical testing and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance and all reporting and documentation.

Bachelor Degree - Science
B. Qualifications/Experience
1 year Microbiology clinical laboratory experience, including internship experience, may be considered.
CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist
One year clinical laboratory experience, including internship experience, may be considered.
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficient with computer.
