Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join the team at UAB St. Vincent’s in Birmingham, AL. This production-based role performs a vital component of clinical lab science in a high-volume environment.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science (MLS preferred) and relevant lab experience. Strong attention to detail, good communication, and teamwork are essential; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or MLS.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOP.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results for patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control.
• Replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens.
• Maintain a safe environment and PPE.
