VillageMD is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join our microbiology lab in Woodland Park, NJ. This full-time position supports CAP, CLIA, and OSHA standards and uses LIS for result entry. You will plate specimens, read plates, perform gram stains and serology, and conduct ID and susceptibility testing with Vitek systems.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm with rotating weekend/holiday shifts. ASCP certification and a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science are preferred, with English

Qualificações

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.
• ASCP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 2-4 years’ experience in Microbiology preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize, problem solve, set priorities, and use critical thinking skills required.

Responsabilidades

• Plates specimens as they arrive in the laboratory according to culture type and site.
• Demonstrates knowledge of incubation requirements for each culture and monitors incubators.
• Reads plates at 24/48/72 hours and enters results in LIS.
• Performs gram stains and serological testing (e.g., Strep Typing).
• Performs ID and susceptibility testing on Vitek MS and Vitek 2.
• Maintains quality control and performs instrument calibrations as required.
