Qualifications

• Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license and registration.
• Bachelor's degree or higher and licensure requirements for NY State.
• Working knowledge of clinical microbiology, culture interpretation, susceptibility testing, and quality control.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical judgment, organization and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Process clinical specimens and perform culture setup and processing.
• Identify organisms and perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Perform molecular/molecular PCR testing within competency.
• Review results, report timely findings, and communicate critical results to providers.
• Maintain quality controls, instrument maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support other lab sections as needed.
