Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Manager of Central Laboratory Services for the Microbiology Department. You will lead daily operations, staffing, scheduling, supply/inventory oversight, and policy adherence to ensure a high-functioning lab environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory readiness, budget monitoring, and continuous improvement, with a full-time Day Shift, Monday to Friday, located in Fairfax, VA.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related laboratory experience.
• Certification: MLS/MT/MLT/HT/HTL/BB per scope of responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides project management leadership for enterprise-wide Laboratory Service Line strategic/business initiatives.
• Ensures Laboratory operations are within approved budgetary parameters.
• Provides technical oversight to ensure compliance with CAP, AABB, FDA, OSHA, The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
• Manage team member relations across oversight departments and develop staff.
• Synthesizing market, operational and financial analysis into final system deliverables.
• Interviews, hires, trains, coaches and counsels individuals.
• Attend weekly, monthly and quarterly internal/external meetings with Laboratory coworkers/partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
