Job summary

Inova Health System in Virginia seeks a Sr Director, Central Laboratory Services to lead operations of on-site and satellite laboratories, directing strategic development to support department and organizational goals. The position manages department finances, staffing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (CAP), while fostering strong relationships with patients, clinicians and other departments.

Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and ASCP certification, plus 7 years in lab

Qualifications

Experience - 7+ years in lab management and 10+ years in related experience.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

Directs operations of Central Lab, including on-site and satellite facilities.
Leads strategic development and manages department finances, budgeting and capital investments.
Manages professional and clerical staff; provides direction and staff development.
Ensures quality assurance and regulatory compliance (CAP) and audits.
Cultivates relationships with patients, attending staff and other departments.
Oversees staffing, performance evaluations, and staff development programs.
Sets goals, feedback, and disciplinary actions; ensures service excellence.
Evaluates marketplace for opportunities and maintains department standards.
