Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a Senior Director Laboratory Services to direct operations of Central Lab and satellite facilities. You will lead strategic development, manage staff, and ensure budget control in line with organisational goals.

You will maintain relationships with patients, attending staff, and other departments while driving quality, compliance with CAP standards, and service excellence. Bachelor's degree required; ASCP certification preferred and extensive lab management

Qualifications

ASCP certification must be held.
7 years in lab management; 10 years related experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee department performance and budgeting, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring fiscal success.
Coordinate quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities, including CAP accreditation and audits.
Respond promptly to requests from other departments while maintaining service excellence for internal and external customers.
Plan long-range development and annual budgets for Central Lab; monitor revenue/expense performance against plan.
Hire/train staff, set schedules, provide coaching, and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
Set performance expectations and conduct evaluations; develop education plans and monitor progress.
