Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology or basic medical science with required microbiology coursework.
• Experience with molecular and immunological methods including real-time PCR and ELISA.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab support for molecular and serological diagnosis of pertussis and diphtheria.
• Perform real-time PCR, DNA sequencing and immunologic assays as needed.
• Assist in development/validation of diagnostic assays and genome-based typing.
• Maintain lab areas, equipment and protocols in compliance with CLIA and safety rules.
• Support data analysis, specimen management and liaison with CDC partners.
