Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a biological science is required.
• Experience performing RNA/DNA extraction and PCR testing is required.
• Knowledge of molecular testing principles, theories, and practices.
• Knowledge of current molecular testing methods and procedures.
• Ability to use molecular and standard laboratory equipment.
• Ability to compile, analyze, evaluate and prepare lab reports.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and principles.
• Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain productive relationships.
• Ability to participate in proficiency testing programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform tests for SARS-CoV-2 and other targets in wastewater and water samples.
• Examine samples, record, interpret and report results.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with certification requirements.
• Maintain safety standards and required documentation.
• Prepare reports and assist with evaluation of new products for lab work.
• Contribute to ongoing proficiency testing and quality program activities.
