Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Cinnaminson, NJ is seeking a Microbiologist I (Direct Microscopy) to prepare and analyze environmental samples for direct microscopy on a full-time basis.

On-the-job training provided, no prior lab experience required beyond a willingness to learn and follow safety practices. The role involves reading spores and fungi with optical microscopes, generating reports, and maintaining lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science required; Biology or Microbiology preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic examination, culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus.
• Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices.
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated and adaptable.

Responsibilities

Job Details: Job Location: Cinnaminson, NJ 08077, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 Hourly, EMSL is currently seeking aMicrobiologist I (Direct Microscopy)inCinnaminson, NJ. This role will encompass preparation and analysis for environmental microbiology samples.No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of a variety of environmental samples for analysis by direct microscopy
• Reading and identifying fungi in spore trap and tape samples using optical microscopy
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Available Shift

• Position is full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Training Shift to start will be Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Flexible)
