EMSL Analytical, Inc. seeks a Microbiologist I in Cinnaminson, NJ to perform preparation and analysis of environmental samples by direct microscopy. On-the-job training will be provided; no prior laboratory experience is required beyond a desire to learn.

Description

EMSL is currently seeking a Microbiologist I specializing in Direct Microscopyin Cinnaminson, NJ. This role will encompass preparation and analysis for environmental microbiology samples. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation and analysis of a variety of environmental samples for analysis by direct microscopy
• Reading and identifying fungi in spore trap and tape samples using optical microscopy
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Life Science-required Biology or Microbiologypreferred
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus
• Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
• Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Available Shift:

• Position is full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:0 p.m.
• Training Shift to start will be Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Flexible)
