Job summary

Skywood Recovery in Augusta, MI is seeking a full-time Manager, Human Resources to strengthen HR practices across designated business units. You will align employee support and facility needs with overall business objectives, serving as a trusted consultant on HR and employee relations while partnering with leadership on staffing, compliance, and effective change management.

You'll lead full-cycle recruitment for designated facilities, maintain accurate HR records, ensure wage and hour

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources
• Minimum 3 years of management experience
• PHR or SPHR (preferred)
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to develop, communicate, and administer HR policies, guidelines, and procedures in accordance with applicable law and government regulations.
• Serve as the go-to resource for employee relations matters, including investigations; make fact-based recommendations.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations situations in partnership with appropriate members of the organizational hierarchy.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements for day-to-day employee management to reduce legal risk and support regulatory compliance.
• Keep employee records current and process employee status changes in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with department record-keeping standards and complete required reporting.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment for designated facilities, supporting adequate staffing to help ensure patient safety and meet organizational objectives.
• Maintain and/or collaborate with facility management on position control planning aligned with the facility FTE budget.
• Monitor compensation equity within assigned facilities, support compensation planning, and ensure wage and hour compliance.
• Maintain Human Resources files to ensure regulatory compliance, including files for independent contractors and/or vendors.

In this role, you’ll help strengthen HR practices across designated business units by aligning employee support and facility needs with overall business objectives. You’ll operate as a trusted consultant on HR and employee relations, while partnering with leadership to support staffing, compliance, and effective change management.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with management to develop, communicate, and administer human resources policies, guidelines, and procedures in accordance with applicable law and government regulations.
• Serve as the go-to resource for employee relations matters, including complaints involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct, bullying, and related concerns. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, then make fact-based recommendations based on findings.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations situations in partnership with appropriate members of the organizational hierarchy when needed.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements for day-to-day employee management to reduce legal risk and support regulatory compliance.
• Keep employee records current and process employee status changes in a timely manner.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• Healthcare experience and/or experience with co-occurring disorders (a plus).
• PHR or SPHR (preferred).
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
