Pay Range: $41.44 - $60.14 per hour

Summary
The purpose of this position is to manage the accounting functions of all Rush subsidiaries, including joint ventures and other Rush affiliates. This teammate is expected to participate in the development and implementation of joint venture and affiliate accounting policies and procedures, and proactively communicate joint venture performance to Corporate Finance and external customers. The team member should also exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving, time-management and financial analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff. Demonstrates a desire to continuously improve accounting and financial reporting skills through proactive professional development efforts. Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively. Ability to perform work in a neat, concise, accurate and efficient manner. Accepts responsibility and accountability.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- 2 years of public accounting experience or healthcare industry experience.
- QuickBooks and Lawson experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting function of all Rush subsidiaries, joint ventures and other affiliates, which includes but not limited to all existing joint ventures, wholly owned subsidiaries, the Rush System parent company and other affiliates Rush may partner with in the future.
- Acts as liaison to all Rush subsidiary business owners and other key stakeholders.
- Supervise and oversee one senior accountant.
- Review of joint venture entity financial statements prepared by external partners, including but not limited to profit and loss statements, balance sheets, other standard financial disclosures, accounting reconciliations, etc.
- Operationalize newly formed subsidiaries, including appropriate banking structure, billing customers, approval and payment of invoices, implementing budgets, appropriate set-up in Lawson, etc.
- Manage the accounting, close process and financial reporting functions for the Rush SurgiCenter, an ambulatory surgery center joint venture. Present quarterly financial results to the SurgiCenter board and finance committees.
- Manage communications such as developing memos, presentation materials and other documentation in a timely manner which supports our stakeholders and subsidiary business owners.
- Utilize general business knowledge to subsidiaries with non-routine accounting issues and concerns.
- Develop and implement recommendations to accounting and operational management, as well as be responsible for day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions.
- Responsible for the creation of accounting policies and procedures for joint ventures and other affiliates. This includes reviewing policies and procedures of existing partners as well as newly established partners in the future.
- Review and advise on consolidation requirement and accounting for future joint venture agreements.
- Proactive in establishing tax planning strategies with new taxable affiliates.

- Maintains accounting and financial reporting knowledge through external sources such as seminars, training courses and literature.
