The position is onsite at 55 Fruit Street, with a rotating day and evening schedule, 40 hours per week, and benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 2–3 years of administrative support experience required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to manage time and coordinate with nursing and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical duties to support the unit and hospital operations.
  • Greet patients and staff professionally and communicate clearly.
  • Prioritize and organize information at the central nursing station.
  • Schedule consultations, tests, and patient transport.
  • Enter admissions, discharges, and transfers in the EMR accurately.
  • Coordinate with ancillary service departments and arrange repairs.
  • Assist manager with payroll duties or staff scheduling as needed.

Job Summary
  • Schedule: Days (7am-3pm, 7am-7pm) and Evenings (3pm-11:30pm)
  • (2) 12-hour shifts & (2) 8-hour shifts per week.
  • Rotating weekend shifts.
  • Holiday rotating schedule.

Lunder 7 is seeking a medical professional to works as a Unit Coordinator, with day and evenings shift availability, on weekdays and weekends.

Lunder 7 is a 32-bed unit that regularly admits patients with strokes, head and spinal trauma, as well as general neuro-medical and neurosurgical patients. The nursing staff is highly regarded by physicians and other interdisciplinary colleagues for their clinical expertise in caring for patients at every point on the adult healthcare continuum by providing holistic, complex, and compassionate care.

Ideal applicant must be able to provide full-time coverage on both Day and Evenings shift to be considered for an interview.

Summary

Provides administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff, functioning as the liaison between the patient, visitors and the clinicians. Expected to effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time and to manage confidential patient information. Responsible for partnering with nursing to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient admissions, discharges and transfers. Also expected to provide outstanding services for every customer interaction. Actual job duties may vary by department.

Essential Functions
  • Performs clerical and other duties to assist in the general administration of the floor or unit.
  • Greets and interacts with patients, families, visitors and coworkers in person and via communication tools in a professional manner.
  • Receives, prioritizes, organizes and manages information at the central nursing station, and throughout the unit.
  • Schedules consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport to other departments.
  • Enters into electronic medical record accurate and timely information about admissions, discharges and transfers to facilitate efficient patient throughput.
  • Contacts ancillary service departments to obtain equipment, services and supplies; tracks status and location; uses designated process for identifying and facilitating repairs.
  • May assist manager with payroll duties or scheduling of staff, or supervision of unit secretaries. Duties may vary by department.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
