Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Registered Nurse to join the inpatient neuroscience unit at 55 Fruit Street in Boston. This role supports adults with complex neurological conditions in a modern, team-based environment with rotating shifts and a 36‑hour weekly schedule.

You will administer medications, assess patients, record vital signs, coordinate with the care team, and adjust plans as needed to ensure safe, high-quality nursing care.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in MA required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's in Nursing preferred
  • Clinical nursing experience 0–1 year required

Job Summary

The inpatient neuroscience unit consists of 3 floors in our newest state of the art Lunder building. The Lunder building is a beautiful open space with floor to ceiling windows, private rooms, and access to the latest equipment promoting an optimal care environment.

  • Neuroscience nurses at MGH are part of an amazing team of clinicians who provide exceptional care to complex patients with a primary neurological diagnosis.
  • Our neuroscience nurses care for an adult population that includes a variety of primary neurological diagnoses such as stroke, head and spine trauma, and degenerative spine disease requiring surgical intervention.
  • Our neuroscience nurses become experts in the care of this complex patient population with proficiency caring for patients with altered mental status, external drains, including cerebral and lumbar drains, mechanical ventilation, and parenteral feeding tubes. As experts in the complexity of nervous system disorders, inpatient neuroscience nurses are a critical part of the multispecialty care at MGH that practice with a team approach and a focus on great patient outcomes.

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
