Job summary

Medix in Marietta, GA is seeking a skilled MFM diagnostic medical sonographer to manage high-risk obstetric patients with Level II scans and fetal well‑being assessments.

This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no call or weekend requirements, finishing early at 2:30 PM on Fridays. You will work with GE Voluson and Philips Elite systems, using Epic EMR and ViewPoint workflows.

Job Title: Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Job Type: Full-Time / Contract (FMLA Coverage)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Clinic closes early on Fridays at 2:30 PM) | 35–37 hours/week

Compensation:

• Travel Rate: Up to $3,500 total weekly ($1,575 non-taxed stipend + taxed hourly)
• Local Rate: Up to $90.00 / hour ($3,330 weekly)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MFM Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join a specialized clinical team in Marietta, GA. This role manages high-risk obstetric patients, performing targeted Level II scans, fetal well-being assessments, and assisting MFM physicians with in-office invasive procedures.

Enjoy a predictable schedule in the greater Atlanta area with no call or weekend requirements and an early 2:30 PM finish every Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Workflow & Imaging

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for 10–11 patients per day on average.
• Conduct detailed Level II / Targeted Fetal Anatomy Scans (max 3–4 per day, allocated 45‑minute exam slots).
• Perform Biophysical Profiles (BPPs), growth scans, and Doppler evaluations (allocated 30‑minute exam slots).
• Assist MFM physicians during in-office invasive procedures, including amniocenteses and cerclage removals (30-minute slots).
• (Note: Fetal echocardiograms are not performed in-house.)

Equipment & Systems Operations

• Operate premium diagnostic ultrasound systems, primarily GE Voluson and Philips Elite machines.
• Execute an efficient dual-system workflow: utilize GE ViewPoint for primary image reporting/documentation and Epic for patient chart reviews, order verification, and exam start/stop tracking.
• Maintain strict adherence to high-level disinfection protocols for probes and equipment.
• Provide occasional during-shift inpatient ultrasound coverage at partner facilities (Kennestone Hospital in Marietta and Cobb Hospital in Austell) using a mobile GE unit during normal clinic hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required Skills & Credentials

• Certification: Active ARDMS certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).
• Experience: Proven clinical background operating within an OB/GYN or Maternal‑Fetal Medicine setting.
• Workflow Proficiency: Ability to maintain image accuracy and diagnostic thoroughness while maintaining strict 30-to-45-minute scan schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active certifications in Nuchal Translucency (NT), MFM, or Fetal Echocardiography.
• Hands-on experience using GE ViewPoint reporting software.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR dual-reporting workflows.
