Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. invites a skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer to join our Marietta, GA team.

The job focuses on diagnostic ultrasound in an MFM setting, working with perinatologists and support staff to provide high-quality care to high-risk pregnancies. You will perform detailed fetal anatomy surveys, assist in procedures, document findings, and generate reports, while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout each exam.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
• Maintain or be eligible for ARDMS certification.
• ARDMS OB/GYN or Fetal Echo (FE) certification or eligible within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed fetal anatomical surveys, including twins and triplets.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS.
• Accurately document exam findings, measurements, images, and procedural details.
• Record patient history, indications, and observations per protocols and standards.
• Generate clear preliminary reports for physician review and final signature.
• Review completed studies with physicians to communicate findings and support diagnosis.
• Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with policies and safety standards.
• Select and assign appropriate exam types and indication codes for accurate reporting and billing.
• Escort patients and family members to the examination room in a courteous manner.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures to patients.
• Provide reassurance and clear communication to support patient safety and comfort.
• Obtain appropriate consent and/or declinations.
• Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and address malfunctions.
