Job summary

The Metrology Technician at Whirlpool Corporation develops, evaluates, and maintains calibration systems to measure physical and chemical phenomena. You will define standards for length, mass, time, temperature, and electric current, ensuring instrumentation meets accuracy requirements.

This highly technical role combines physics, math, and engineering to quantify measurement uncertainty, lead GD&T programs, and support quality through data-driven methods and process audits.

Qualifications

• Proficiency reading engineering blueprints with GD&T.
• Experience with CMM programming (PC-DMIS) and precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, PLC logic (Allen Bradley), VFDs, CNC, 480V systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and maintain calibration systems; define base/derived units.
• Program, set up, and operate CMMs; apply GD&T standards.
• Perform error analysis and quality improvement; conduct process audits and RCA.
• Conduct analytical testing on materials and products; substantiate claims.
• Lead engineering, quality, and lab teams; represent SME in standards committees.
