Job summary

Micro Stamping Corporation in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Metrologist II to develop, maintain, and improve measurement systems ensuring product quality. The role programs automated inspection equipment (Optical Gage Smart Scope, Measuremind) and leads metrology initiatives of moderate complexity.

The candidate will review customer specifications, perform Gage R&R and MSA studies, and collaborate with NPD/Process Engineers. A bachelor’s degree is preferred with 5+ years in manufacturing quality.

Qualifications

• Complete NPD quality projects on time.
• Review customer spec changes and revise docs within designated timeframe.
• Program automated inspection equipment (Optical Gage Smart Scope, Measuremind).
• Assist in design and development of fixtures and gages used for inspection.
• Perform Gage R&R studies and other measurement systems analysis.
• Perform first article inspections and process capability studies to support manufacturing and development.
• Work with NPD and Process Engineers to deliver measurement programs with minimal supervision.
• Perform engineering capability and stability studies.
• Apply GD&T Y14.5 and other measurement techniques to review design intent.
• Provide information regarding measurement techniques used on products to customers and suppliers as needed.
• Lead metrology initiatives at moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

• Create work instructions for the Quality Assurance Department.
• Maintain all divisional quality inspection records.
• Create and update inspection drawing criteria for new and revised components.
