Job summary

Residential Transitions, Inc. (RTI) seeks two Full-Time Mental Health Workers (DSPs) to join the Metro Float Team, providing coverage across Twin Cities residential programs.

Floats ensure consistent, high-quality services by working at multiple sites rather than a single location. Ideal candidates have experience with severe mental illness or related disabilities, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work 40 hours weekly on varying schedules from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM, including weekend

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with severe mental illness or related disabilities.
• Ability to complete all applicable DHS background study requirements.
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area.
• Availability to work varying shifts between 6:00 AM and 12:00 AM on assigned workdays.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centered support to individuals in 24-hour residential programs.
• Assist individuals in developing independent living skills through one-on-one support.
• Support individuals in managing mental health symptoms and coping strategies.
• Teach daily living skills including medication self-management, finances, and household tasks.
• Assist with accessing community resources, transportation, appointments, and recreation.
• Encourage socialization, community integration, and participation in meaningful activities.
• Follow individualized support plans and program procedures; document as required.
• Collaborate with program managers and staff to ensure continuity of services.
• Adapt to routines and expectations of multiple residential programs.
