Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Georgia is seeking an Area Dispatcher to organize the daily dispatch of drivers for a metro area, ensuring safe and timely deliveries and top‑tier customer service.

You will work closely with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps to plan, monitor, and adjust schedules, maximize loads, and maintain strong safety and regulatory compliance. This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication.
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
