Job summary

Bombardier Transportation is seeking a Methods Engineer at our Hartford Service Center to analyze feasibility, draft working and repair documents, and support production planning. You will assess costs, impacts, and risks of changes in production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

You typically have 0-2 years of experience, basic knowledge of SAP, ACAD, Catia V4/V5, and a manufacturing background or degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in Methods, Material Planning, or related area.
• Basic knowledge of SAP, ACAD, Catia V4/V5.
• Basic knowledge of Project Management principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyses feasibility by assessing costs, impacts and risks of production changes.
• Drafts necessary working and repair documents.
• Learns to analyze and estimate PCR (Program Change Request).
• Analyses equipment and workstation capacity, and creates task sequencing and capacity analyses.
• Initiates tool purchase orders and ECAAR (Emergency Capital Acquisition Authorization).
• Assists Methods Planners with tool designs and guides revisions of manufacturing documents.

• Adheres to General Work Requirements
• Assists with analyzing feasibility according to optimal methods by assessing the costs, impacts and risks of a change in production
• Assists with drafting the necessary working and repair documents
• Learns to analyze and estimate PCR (Program Change Request)
• Assists with analyzing equipment and workstation production capacity, as well as creating task sequency and capacity analysis
• Assists with analyzing requirements and initiates productions tool purchase orders, including ECAAR (Emergency Capital Acquisition Authorization)
• Assists Methods Planners with tool designs
• Directs Methods Planners in the preparation and revision of manufacturing documents such as MIWOs, LOGs, TWOs, Set-Up Documents (Mfg Work Orders, Work Instructions (LOGs) and Tooling Work Orders)

• You have basic knowledge of SAP, ACAD, Catia V4/V5
• You have basic knowledge of Project Management principles
• You have the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and specifications
• You have manufacturing background (preferred)
• You have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (preferred)
