Job summary

Alaska Power & Telephone is seeking a full-time Metering Program Lead to own metering work across systems, with options to work from an AP&T office or a home-based location in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest. Travel to remote sites is required about 30% of the time.

The role leads metering ordering, configuration, programming, upgrades, and standardization efforts, supports billing and regulatory documentation, and ensures metering accuracy and safety across AP&T's service territory.

Qualifications

• Degree or journeyman-level metering experience in electrical/electronics required.
• Experience with metering equipment selection, configuration, and testing.
• Ability to interpret metering standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Specify, procure, and manage meters, CTs, PTs, and related metering equipment.
• Configure and program meters and communication devices.
• Develop and maintain metering standards and documentation.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of metering systems.
• Lead and document the meter audit program.
• Support regulatory documentation requirements.
• Lead metering upgrade projects including AMI deployments.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, MIS, vendors, and contractors.
• Provide field support and travel to remote sites as needed.
