Job summary

Alaska Power & Telephone Company is seeking a full-time Metering Program Lead to own metering work across our systems, with onsite or home-based options in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest. The role involves field work and up to 30% travel to remote sites, while supporting Billing and regulatory needs.

The candidate will lead metering upgrades, configure meters, develop standards, and ensure compliance with NESC/NEC and state requirements. Remote eligibility requires residency in AK, WA, or ID.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on electric metering experience (installation, configuration, programming, testing)
• Ability to interpret metering standards, NESC, and NEC requirements
• Willingness to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
• Current passport and ability to travel up to 30% of workload

Responsibilities

• Specify, procure, and manage meters, CTs, PTs and related metering equipment
• Configure and program meters and communication devices
• Develop and maintain metering standards, forms, settings, and documentation
• Lead meter audit program and support regulatory documentation requirements
• Support AMI deployments and coordinate with Billing for data validation
