Job summary

Ameren Illinois is hiring a metering technician to service residential and commercial electric and gas meters and AMI modules. You will respond to alarms, replace meters, install meters AMI modules, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance under the IBEW contract.

Position includes annual incentive opportunities and full-time benefits. The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and completion of company training to become OQ certified; an associate degree in a

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver license.
• Pass company-sponsored training, including gas training to become OQ certified.
• Associate's degree in a technical discipline or minimum 8 hours technical math coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, flags, alerts, and events from the AMI system and replace meters/modules as needed.
• Install electric AMI meters and gas modules the deployment vendor cannot complete.
• Change out AMI/AMR electric meters and gas meters/modules per customer requests.
• Perform routine electric and gas meter exchanges and AMI gas module exchanges.
• Inspect gas regulator pressure, leak checks, and related piping during meter work.
