Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. via Potomac Edison is seeking a meter reader to perform on-site reading of customer meters, report diversions and irregularities, and deliver notices.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record, ability to work in all weather and terrain, and strong verbal and written communication. An AWD/4WD vehicle is required for reading meters, with mileage reimbursement.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.44.

Responsibilities Include

• Accurately reading meters installed on customer premises, including visually checking for and reporting service diversion and metering irregularities
• Delivering company notices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather over all types of terrain.
• Must possess and use an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle to read meters (eligible for mileage reimbursement).
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working overtime as needed
