FirstEnergy Corp. (Mon Power) in Clarksburg is seeking a Meter Reader to support service operations from the Clarksburg Service Center. You will read meters, identify irregularities, and assist with storm restoration efforts while ensuring safety and quality service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. Starting pay ranges from $21.60 to $30.34 per hour with benefits and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must live within 40 minutes of the reporting service center.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Meter reading experience preferred.
• Must have an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle (mileage reimbursement).
• Able to drive/walk safely in all weather and terrains.
• Good with customers and able to communicate well, both verbally and written.
• Overtime may be required.

• Perform single-phase reconnects, disconnects and meter exchanges.

Starting Rate - $21.60; Top Rate - $30.34

This is a position based at the Clarksburg Service Center.

Responsibilities Include

• Reading meters installed on customer premises, including visually checking for and reporting service diversion and meter irregularities.
• Performing collection activities when assigned.
• Performing single phase reconnects, disconnects and meter exchanges when assigned.
• Performing duties in alignment with storm restoration efforts.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Use of personal 4WD or AWD vehicle required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must live within 40 minutes of the reporting service center.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Previous meter reading experience preferred.
• Must possess and use an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle to read meters(eligible for mileage reimbursement).
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather over all types of terrain.
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
