Job summary

Dakota News Now is seeking a meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather Team in Sioux Falls. You will work with the morning meteorologist, news managers, and producers to provide comprehensive weather coverage for newscasts, streaming updates, and digital content.

Responsibilities include analyzing data to forecast weather, presenting forecasts clearly on air, and developing digital-first weather content while monitoring severe weather events for all platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Meteorology or a related field is required.
• On-air experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze raw scientific data, models, and other information to create an accurate weather forecast for our viewing area
• Create a compelling, conversational presentation of the weather forecast for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media audiences
• Develop digital-first weather content
• Accurately forecast and track severe weather
