Job summary

Gray Media's Dakota News Now operation in Sioux Falls seeks a dynamic multimedia journalist to produce compelling stories for the news. You will report, shoot, edit, and go live, handling breaking news with strong storytelling and newsroom collaboration.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills on air and in writing, plus the ability to work day and evening shifts, travel as needed, and adapt to fast-paced events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or related field.
• Experience in on-air television reporting preferred; training available.
• Strong writing, journalism ethics and news judgment.
• Ability to shoot and edit own stories; go live.

Responsibilities

• Works with the news director and assignment desk to plan daily assignments.
• Must have excellent news judgment and journalism ethics.
• Must have strong writing, storytelling, and reporting skills.
• Must be skilled in social media and online news production.
• Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
• Must have the ability to shoot and edit your own stories and go live.
• Excellent live reporting skills; ad-lib during breaking news.
• Must be willing to work day and evening shifts, longer hours and variable days.
• Travel will also be required.
