Sora Resource Group seeks a Technical Sales Representative in New Castle, PA. This role blends technical knowledge with customer engagement to drive growth across multiple units, from inquiry to delivery.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Sales, translating complex steel process details into actionable customer solutions. Ideal candidates have a technical engineering background and 3-5 years in steel/metals sales, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required; Metallurgy or Materials Science strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of sales or marketing experience in the steel or metals industry is a plus.
• Solid technical foundation with the ability to translate complex processes into customer-focused solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally (25-30%).

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand needs and recommend the right technical solutions.
• Support two core business units while contributing to sales initiatives across other divisions.
• Build strong, lasting relationships by delivering prompt, effective, and knowledgeable service.
• Review inquiries, establish pricing, and develop process plans for steel ingot and billet production.
• Stay current on steelmaking and downstream processes to serve as a technical resource for customers and sales staff.
• Assist in order planning, scheduling, and product disposition, ensuring smooth execution from inquiry to delivery.
• Oversee customer orders and deliveries while managing WIP and inventory levels.
• Track product and order profitability to support strategic decision-making.
• Investigate customer claims in coordination with Metallurgy and drive them to resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve the sales and customer service process and put ideas into action.
• Step in to advise and support the Sales Department in the absence of the Director of Sales.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure the highest standards of service and safety are upheld.
