Job summary

Assistance Technique Internationale (ATI) seeks a Summer 2027 Process/Product Engineering Intern for our Washington, PA Operations. This role offers hands-on experience in metals manufacturing, process optimization, and product performance analysis.

As an intern, you will assist with daily engineering activities, support development and testing of manufacturing processes, analyze data, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Technical Services to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a foundation in engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Interest in metallurgy and metals manufacturing and the ability to work in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Product and Process Engineers with daily engineering activities related to metals manufacturing, processing, and product performance.
• Support development, evaluation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve quality and efficiency.
• Participate in troubleshooting by collecting data, evaluating process conditions, and identifying potential root causes.
• Assist with analyzing material properties and metallurgical characteristics to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Technical Services to address production challenges and drive improvements.
• Prepare and present project findings and analyses to engineering leadership.
