ATI is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for Vandergrift Operations for summer 2027. The intern will support engineering and operations teams in a heavy industrial metals manufacturing environment, assisting with process improvement, data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.

Formación

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field at an accredited University.

Responsabilidades

• Support process engineers with daily production activities, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Assist with evaluating manufacturing processes such as cold rolling, annealing, heat treating, pickling, finishing, or inspection.
• Collect, organize, and analyze process data to identify trends, variation, inefficiencies, or improvement opportunities.
• Support investigations related to product quality, equipment performance, process capability, material flow, or production delays.
• Assist with developing and updating process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, and technical reports.
• Participate in plant trials, process audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
• Evaluate impact of process parameters on chemical composition, material properties, surface quality, and mechanical performance.
• Work with operations, maintenance, quality, metallurgy, and engineering teams to support improvements and corrective actions.
• Track key performance indicators related to yield, productivity, scrap, rework, downtime, and quality.
• Support implementation of process changes and safety improvements.
• Prepare and present project findings to technical and management teams.
