Tentamus, a global science powerhouse, is seeking a Metals Lab Technician to join our Columbia Laboratories Team in Portland, Oregon, where the magic (and the metal madness) happens. We analyze metals, breaking them down and performing precise tests.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (With Gloves On)
Under the direction of the Metals Manager, you will contribute to a world-class analytical laboratory by:
- Preparing sample test digests and extractions for trace metal analysis using ICP-OES, ICPMS, HPLC-ICPMS, and HG-CVAA.
- Maintaining detailed documentation following GDP standards.
- Collaborating with your lab team to ensure smooth operations.
- Following SOPs and maintaining quality and compliance.
- Care for lab equipment and monitor supply levels.
- Summarizing and reporting findings using Excel, instrument software, and LIMS.
- Handling hazardous chemicals, primarily acids, with proper PPE and safety protocols.
- Executing assigned projects to meet laboratory needs, as science never sleeps.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED SCHEDULE
Full-Time, Onsite at Columbia Laboratories | M - F | Flexible Day Shift | OT Eligible
To Succeed As The Metals Lab Technician
Ideal candidates will be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely, hold an AA/AS in Chemistry or related field, or have relevant laboratory experience. Other requirements include:
- Experience with trace metal preparation and analysis preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory terminology, wet chemistry, equipment, and techniques.
- Familiarity with LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
