Job description

Job Title: Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift)

We are seeking a Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift) to join our federal team at our York, PA location in support of Navy Systems. The role involves:

  1. Qualifying in and performing non-destructive examination procedures such as dye penetrant tests and magnetic particle tests.
  2. Setting up, programming, and operating the coordinate measuring machine; adjusting, calibrating, certifying, and dating instruments.
  3. Checking, auditing, measuring, recording, repairing, and calibrating precision gauges and measuring devices, including inspection of special parts, jigs, fixtures, dies, assemblies, and tools.
  4. Investigating various assignments including tooling, fixtures, production operations, government-regulated packaging and shipping, instrument calibration and repair, and receiving operations.

Our team at the York (Grantley) Plant designs, develops, and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels worldwide. Responsibilities include fabricating, assembling, fitting, brazing tubing, threading, welding complex piping, and working with ferrous and nonferrous metals using conventional or automatic submerged arc welding, including difficult positions of stick, TIG, and manual arc welding.

Pay: $30.12/hour + $0.70/hour shift differential

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and measurement devices.

Preferred:

  • 3-4+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of shop practices, machine operation, and inspection methods.
  • Training from a registered apprenticeship program or equivalent.
