Job description

Journeyman Maintenance Technician

This full-time role is a part of our Elkton team and reports to the Trades Supervisors.

Shift and Pay:

Hourly rate is $30.61

2nd shift - 3:30pm – 12am - $0.60/hr shift premium
3rd shift – 10:30pm – 7am - $0.75/hr shift premium

Job Summary:

  • Diagnose malfunctioning machines such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Diagnose and replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other personnel from affected departments including production, maintenance, and tool room to diagnose malfunction.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
  • Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or broken parts.

Required experience:

  • Working on large metal stamping presses.
  • Working with robotic welding machines (Fanuc).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working with steel, iron, aluminum, and other various metals.
  • Maintenance Tech Journeyman card or 8 years of verifiable experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
