Job summary

Fieldstone Bio is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Reno, Nevada assay team. The role focuses on routinely running established assays for identifying metals in mining samples, managing inventory, and leading SOP workflow execution.

You will contribute to facility expansion and assay method optimization while reporting to the Head of Microbiology. This hands-on, lab-based position emphasizes independent leadership of mining-sample workflows and delivering robust data to customers

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in Microbiology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• 1+ years’ experience with assay execution; industry experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Fields must keep diligent records and documentation.
• Thrives in a fast-paced lab environment and can work independently.
• Some travel to the Woburn, MA office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive and organize mining samples for assays.
• Register materials for assay execution.
• Execute cell-based assays to detect metals in mining samples.
• Provide feedback and propose improvements to workflows.
• Prepare assay working materials for each week.
• Collaborate with AI Data Team for data registration and documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery of goals for milestones.
• Document processes, results, and registrations in ELN.
