Job summary

G Mining Ventures is seeking an experienced Assay Lab Chemist to provide technical oversight of laboratory chemistry, QA/QC, method performance, and data review in a mining setting. The role supports the Assay Lab Manager and may act as the Manager's delegate when assigned.

Working conditions include a mix of lab work and handling hazardous materials. The position requires six or more years in analytical labs, preferably in mining, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Six or more years of analytical laboratory experience, preferably in mining.
• Supervisory or technical-lead experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for wet chemistry, instrumental analysis, QA/QC, and data review.
• Develop and maintain laboratory methods, work instructions, and QC requirements.
• Monitor QA/QC trends, flags, and investigate anomalies.
• Review analytical results for technical validity and escalate issues.
• Support method verification, detection-limit studies, and inter-laboratory comparisons.
• Advise internal customers on analytical methods and data interpretation.
• Train laboratory personnel in analytical chemistry and safe practices.
• Assist with crew planning, workload balancing, and technical coverage.
• Coordinate instrument maintenance and vendor support as needed.
• Assist with reagent, standard, and consumable management.
• Participate in safety inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
